Brazil - Spain llive 30.06.2013 final FIFA Confederations Cup

                                                 Brazil - Spain

                                     Match Schedule:
               Competition:FIFA Confederations Cup Final
                         Date:Sunday, Jun 30th,2014
Now, nearly three years on, Spain are once again in South America and once again outsiders, only this time Brazil wait for the world and European champions in a dream final of the Confederations Cup at the Maracana on Sunday.
This could quite easily be the World Cup final next year, although Spain will be hoping if that is the case they get longer to prepare having been taken to penalties by Italy in sweltering conditions on Thursday.
Roberto Soldado and Cesc Fabregas have returned to fitness and Sergio Ramos and Gerard Pique should be fine despite missing training, while reports in Spain suggest Vicente del Bosque is considering a start for Javi Martinez.
Brazil boss Phil Scolari has no injury problems and his major decision is whether to stick with the underperforming Hulk. Lucas Moura or Hernanes could come in for Hulk if Big Phil decides to drop the Zenit forward.
The Confederations Cup hosts have lost one home competitive match in 50 years – the last of which came in 1975 - and are slight favourites with bookmakers to deny the all-conquering Spanish another trophy.

Spain and Brazil clash on the football field in the Confederations Cup final on Sunday, it will be Spain's golden generation against Brazil's young brigade.
The Spanish team has won back-to-back European championships and the World Cup with their current team and will be hoping to add the Confederations Cup to the list tonight.
Brazil who are playing at home will have the stands full with supporters as their young players look to set the football team on a path of victory with this win as the 2014 World Cup which will be held in the country draws close.
Neymar has been the star of the Brazilian team with his goals and passes while Spain has seen brilliance from the team as a whole. Brazil who have won the World Cup five times have been unsuccessful for sometime now and will be hoping to change their fortune with momentum as they face the World Champions.
The match promises to have a mix of Samba and Flamenco on the football field from kick-off to the final whistle. Fans can only be ensured of a thrilling encounter

Spain vs Italy live 27-06-2013 - FIFA Confederations Cup 2013

The second of the Confederations Cup Semi-Final on Thursday will pit Italy against Spain. The two sides have split the all-time series with each having notched 10 wins while drawing the remaining 11 games. Spain has had the edge lately though with a 4-1-2 record against the Azzurri since the turn of the millennium and La Roja have eliminated Italy in each of the past two European Championships (most recently with a 4-0 thumping in the 2012 Final). The Spanish have dominated everyone lately having not lost a game since a 2011 friendly against England in London and having not lost a competitive match since their opening game against Switzerland in the 2010 World Cup (which they of course went on to win anyway).

Italy will unfortunately be without their leading scorer and focal point in attack, Mario Balotelli. Balotelli will not even be in attendance as he has been sent back to Milan for treatment on his thigh. Balotelli’s club teammate Ignazio Abate will also be noticeably absent from the Milan lineup. With two key starters missing Italy will be reliant upon two players returning from injury and suspension; Andrea Pirlo and Daniele de Rossi. The midfield pair really pulled the strings sitting in front of the defense in Italy’s 4-2-3-1 during the first two games. In those two games De Rossi and Pirlo completed 246 passes averaging 85% and 90.3% passing accuracy, respectively. Each player has also added one of Italy’s 8 goals and Pirlo added an assist as well. De Rossi is also leading the Italians with 3.5 interceptions per game.

Vicente del Bosque’s side have (unsurprisingly) scored the most goals (15) thus far in the tournament. Spain will undoubtedly run a 4-3-3 dominating possession at the feet of some of Barcelona and Real Madrid’s brightest stars. The back line of Jordi Alba, Sergio Ramos, Gerard Pique and Alvaro Arbeloa will provide cover for Iker Casillas. A Barcelona quartet of Xavi, Iniesta, Sergio Busquets and Pedro should also make the cut with the final two places less solidified as both Roberto Soldado and Cesc Fabregas were absent from Spain’s most recent training session. Though del Bosque often sent Spain out without a true striker in the past, expect Fernando Torres to start up top. The Chelsea hitman has taken full advantage of his opportunities scoring five goals and adding an assist in just 120 minutes of play (granted most of this was against Tahiti

Brazil vs. Japan live 15.06.2013

                                      Match Informatio
                                   Team: Brazil vs Japan
                              Date: Saturday, 15th June, 2013
                                     Time: 19:00 GMT
                      Tournament: FIFA Confederations Cup

Brazil are set for a step up in class when they continue their tour of friendlies with a meeting with Japan in Wroclaw, Poland on Tuesday. The Selecao cruised to a 6-0 victory over Iraq last Friday in the latest match against significantly inferior opposition.

n contrast, Alberto Zaccheroni’s Japan should provide a significant examination of how Brazil are shaping up under Mano Menezes with 20 months to go before they begin their World Cup campaign as hosts.
While Japan could only beat Iraq 1-0 in a World Cup qualifier back in September, they scored an impressive scalp with a 1-0 victory over a strong France side in Paris on Friday.

With many people back in Brazil still questioning whether Menezes is the man to lead the country on home soil, a positive result against a strong side, featuring the creative talents of Manchester United’s Shinji Kagawa, will be keenly desired.

While the opposition may have not provided much of a test, there were encouraging signs for Brazil last time out. Menezes blooded a new formation featuring Neymar and Hulk cutting in from either flank while the attacking midfield duo of Oscar and Kaka looked to provide support through the center.
Kaka looked good on his first appearance for Brazil since the 2010 World Cup and even marked the milestone with a goal. However, whether the Real Madrid man will play a significant role in 2014 remains to be seen. While the number of minutes he enjoys and the form he displays at club level will be integral to his future with Brazil, he will also have to show that he can still be a factor against top international competition. Tuesday, against Japan, would be a good place for the 30-year-old former world player of the year to continue to prove that he is not yet a spent force.

Menezes is certain to have to make at least one change to the lineup that faced off with Iraq, with left-back Marcelo suffering a fractured metatarsal in training on Sunday that will rule him out for three months.
With fellow-full-backs Dani Alves and Alex Sandro already out, it leaves Menezes with something of a selection dilemma. A change may also be needed in midfield, with Ramires struggling with illness.

Argentina v England live rugby 08.06.2013

                                Date: Saturday, June 8
Venue: Estadio Padre Ernesto Martearena, Salta
                    Kickoff: 16:10 local (20:10 BST)
                   Referee: Chris Pollock (New Zealand)
Assistant referees: Nigel Owens (Wales), Christie du Preez (South Africa)
                   TMO: Shaun Veldsman (South Africa)
                    Assessor: Carlos Molinari (Argentina

Having split their squad in preparation for their June Test matches and the upcoming Rugby Championship, Argentina are without several leading stars including Juan Martيn Fernلndez Lobbe, Juan Imhoff, Juan Martيn Hernلndez and Patricio Albacete.

In total, 21 of Argentina's leading players have been rested from facing England and Georgia. It is a testament to their growing depth that despite the number of absentees, the side put out in Salta is a very competitive one.

Centred around the experience of the illustrious Felipe Contepomi - who will retire from the game following this month's Tests - there are exciting young talents such Manuel Montero and Mلrtin Landajo.

The pack however is well-worn and full of experience. Pablo Henn and Maximiliano Bustos are problematic to contain, while Julio Farias Cabello was one of the stars of last year's Rugby Championship before joining London Welsh in the Aviva Premiership.

Add in the expertise of Gonzalo Tiesi, Benjamin Urdapilleta and Tomas Leonardi - Argentina have a strong core from which to work around and control the tempo of the match if England struggle to maintain possession.

Weakened? Certainly - but these Pumas have enough bite.

England have already received their fair share of physicality after being worryingly outmuscled in the opening and final quarters by the CONSUR XV in Montevideo.

Either side of those suspect patches came six tries, including a six-minute hat-trick for Wasps number eight Billy Vunipola, whilst Ben Foden carried on from his impressive showing in the Aviva Premiership Final as an inexperienced England side were put through their paces.

Two wins from two, the first coming against a shoddy Barbarians outfit, have handed young stars a chance to impress but the Test series is another matter.

It is for that reason that the likes of Joe Launchbury, Ben Morgan and David Wilson return upfront to take on the Argentinian pack.

That said, England are not without some intriguing picks. The return of Bath duo Rob Webber and Dave Attwood to Test rugby seemed unlikely in the Six Nations due to injuries and form, but both have fought their way back into contention.

David Strettle and Lee Dickson are two more who have been forced to bide their time for another chance.

Stuart Lancaster has not been afraid however to pick young talent. Christian Wade's Test debut is arguably overdue. Matt Kvesic is highly rated in many circles. Jonathan Joseph is still just 21. Joe Marler, with Alex Corbisiero now away with the Lions, can leave a mark.

It is an England side full of promising talent, but certainly not Test experience. Facing Argentina is not just about the opposition on the pitch but also the surroundings.

After all, if winning a Test series in Argentina was so simple, England would have done it before.

Ones to Watch:

For Argentina: After Agustin Pichot and Nicolas Vergallo, comes Mلrtin Landajo. The Pampas XV scrum-half is still only 24, but is full of potential and has 17 caps to his name. Partnering Urdapilleta at half-back and with Contepomi outside him, if the forwards can secure enough clean ball then Landajo will thrive.

For England: How can you not keep an eye on Christian Wade? The electric 21-year old from London Wasps has already collected plenty of awards this season, but a first England cap may prove to be his most treasured possession of the campaign. Remember the location and opposition when the question comes up in future years about where Wade's England career truly began.

Head-to-Head: A pair of big ball carriers. Tomas Leonardi is an ominous presence at 6ft 5' and nearly 17 stone, set to test the defence of Freddie Burns with his bursts from the back of the scrum. Ben Morgan is no shrinking violet either and after Vunipola's try-scoring exploits will have a point to prove.

Prediction: Tricky. Argentina have enough class, home advantage and an experienced pack. England possess searing pace in their backs but that will amount to nothing if they prove inferior in the set-piece. A narrow away win. England by 4.
